Myersons Honored With Distinguished Citizen awards -  On March 11, 2008 at an evening reception and presentation, Wilmette residents Roger Myerson, Nobel laureate in Economics in 2007, and Gina Myerson, his wife and founding trustee and first chairperson of the District 39 Education Foundation, were honored. Sponsors for this event include Alltown Bus Service, Martin Partners, and Harris Private Bank.  More 

Gripp Grants Awarded - Two initiatives proposed by District 39 teachers have been funded.  More.

Sam Mikaelian Fine Arts Fund  -  Improv theatre is the theme this year and laughter is sure to follow!  In the fall of 2008 look for “Laughapalooza” from the Foundation!   There will be in school activities for the students and weekend presentations and shows for community members of all ages.  More.

2nd Annual Foundation Day with the Wolves!  -  Sunday, Feb. 24th 2008 at 4:00 the Foundation will hold it’s 2nd annual Day with the Chicago Wolves Hockey Day!  Ticket order forms will be forth coming. Ticket order form and flyer.

Annual Fund Drive  -  Look for those donation envelopes in December!  We will be sending out newsletters to every District 39 family and hope for a high number of participants in our quest to fund innovative projects in the district!

The District 39 Educational Foundation is excited to announce the restoration of two murals hanging in the auditorium of Harper School. After careful research by Foundation Trustee Holly Berman, the importance of these Depression-era pieces became apparent. The cost of the restoration and lighting was covered by a $15,000 grant from the District 39 Educational Foundation. More.

District 39 Educational Foundation Family Night with the Chicago Wolves will be Sunday March 11, 2007 for the 3 pm game versus the Peoria Rivermen at the Allstate Arena.  Three ticket packages are offered, including just plain tickets ($16).  The flyer and order form describes the packages and the benefit to the foundation.  Orders are taken by phone, fax or mail.  Payment must be received by March 9, 2007.

The District 39 Educational Foundation held a community celebration in downtown Wilmette on Saturday, February 10, 2007th. Many merchants participated with sales, drawings, storytelling and mini-manicures! There were special performances by Barrel of Monkeys at the Wilmette Theatre.  More.
