FAN/PEC Idol 2011 Featured Top-Notch Parent Professionals in May!

Attendees from PTO/As and other non-profit organizations who coordinate programs for parents were able to preview great guest speakers at a reasonable price at FAN/PEC Idol.  FAN/PEC Idol 2011 was on  Thursday, May 12, 2011 at New Trier HS/Northfield campus. 

Eight impressive speakers of interest for your consideration for the 2011-12 school year each made 10 minute presentations.   They are (in alphabetical order):

  • Annie Burnside, M.Ed., author of "Soul to Soul Parenting" -- raising consciousness in families through expanded spiritual awareness at home
  • Gary Hill, Psy.D., LMFT, CSADC, of GRH Consulting -- maintaining your sanity when children act up
  • Peggy Kubert, LCSW, executive director, Erika's Lighthouse -- raising resilient kids
  • Robert Mardirossian, Ph.D., executive director, Family Service of Winnetka-Northfield -- interpersonal neurobiology
  • Kelly Matthews-Pluta, LCSW, Family Service Center of Wilmette, Glenview, Northbrook and Kenilworth -- maintaining a strong marriage...with kids
  • David Schreiber, M.D., Medical Director, Mood and Anxiety Disorder Program for Children, Adolescents and Young Adults, NorthShore University Health System -- stress and anxiety
  • Mary Waldon, MSW, LCSW -- raising girls in 2011, and supporting kids in their development of friends
  • Ernest Wang, M.D., Medical Director, Center for Simulation and Innovation/CSTAR program, NorthShore University Health System -- how to handle various emergencies and how medical personnel are being trained, using the latest simulator technology.

In addition to these 8 speakers, another dozen outstanding local professionals from other related organizations attended at our Speaker's Showcase resource tables.
